Genesis 2:18. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
There is no doubt that thousands of men and women find it difficult to marry at the right time. There are many who are in courtship and yet something happens and they are not able to get married. Many are fasting and praying on a daily basis but their effort to get married is unfruitful. I discovered that 95 percent of people that are single don't want to be single but one reason or the other is contributing to make them single. And today we are waging a war against singleness.
There are four kinds of people :
- Those who are born celibates or Eunuchs, they are born not to marry so they are born impotent.
- Those made Eunuchs by other people (they are castrated).
- Those who choose to make themselves Eunuch for the kingdom of God' sake.
- Those who know that they have to marry.
Now if you have a stirring for the opposite sex, then you are supposed to marry ! Today in the world we live in, people have wrong desires : Men having wrong desires for men and women having wrong desires for women. Some even have wrong desires for animals in the name of "Human rights". But for us Christian, we are talking about the desire for the opposite sex. So if you have any desire at all for the opposite sex, God did NOT make you to be celibate.
What do we mean by Singleness ?
It is being alone, to be disappointed in a marriage (divorce). It is also the result of a failure in a marriage, the breaking up of a courtship and most of all the state of being unmarried. It is lacking a marital partner or a helpmate or the inability to hook up with somebody who will be your spouse. When that happens you don't fulfill God's plan for marriage.
What are some of the reasons why some are single today ?
