What are some of the reasons why some are single today ? Part 1

The lack of vision and purpose of marriage. Hosea 4:6. «My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...». So there are thousands who are single because they lack the purpose and reasons why God instituted marriage. They have no vision of being married or having a happy home.
The Spirit of pride. Some see themselves as holier than others, more beautiful, more handsome than others. And because they think the people they are meeting are not like them, it makes it difficult for them to find a spouse. When you have this spirit of pride, you may not get married at the right time. And if care is not taken, you may remain single for a very long time.
Difficult parents. Some parents are very selective for their children. They tell their daughters : «if you don't bring a wealthy man, don't bring any man to the house». Others are very tribalistic, they say to their children : «if you don't marry somebody from my tribe, then you can't marry». Some say their grandfathers have a problem with a particular tribe and so the parents have eaten a sour grape and the children's teeth are set on edge. So because their grandparents had a misunderstanding with a particular tribe, there is a law in the family that their children can not marry from that tribe. Some other parents have emotional attachment to their children and so can not release them to marry.

There was a case we dealt with years ago of a man whose daughter has been courting for seven years. The guy was working, and so was the lady and they were both from the same tribe yet the lady's Father said : You can't marry ! After many discussion, one day the father made a statement, He said : I saw her (my daughter) in my dream that she is my wife.

So due to a dream, this man had emotional attachment to his daughter and could not allow his daughter to get married for the past seven years. Finally after 7 years, we were able to pray, break (spiritual) things, and finally they got married. Seven wasted years. Some parents are emotionally attached to their children, some fathers have soulish ties with them.

But ANYTHING that is keeping you single other than the Glory of God, we are coming against it now. You will be liberated, your marriage will surface and God will take the Glory. Give him (God) praise !
The pursuit of other things. Some ladies, instead of marrying at the right time, use that time to pursue their education so forget to marry at the right time. Most of these ladies are approached by men but they don't even respond to the invitation. They don't even tell the person : Give me time to complete my education, and so, these guys come and go and then things begin to pass. Some insist on getting a certain high level in education before they would give an answer to any man. When that happens, at the time they are ready for marriage, the men also look at them somehow. I have heard some sisters say they would not marry a man that has no master's degree or a doctorate ! They prefer to remain single. Others have determined that they will not get married until, they themselves, have a doctorate or something. So the pursuit of this agenda makes time pass and by the time they think they are ready to be married, it becomes difficult because of their position, their qualifications, their age.
