Colossians 4:2 (AMP) “Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.”

Many Christians have become so preoccupied with making a living, taking care of their families, and enjoying the pleasures of this life so much to the extent that they are spiritually disabled. But as Christians, we must stay prayed up no matter what we do. Prayer is the breath of the Christian and to survive we must stay prayed up.

Here are three reasons why we must stay prayed up:

1. We activate divine acceleration when we stay prayed up. The Bible says in

1 Kings 18:46 (NKJV), “Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah, and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.”

After Prophet Elijah had spent time in prayer, the hand of God came upon him to overtake the chariots of Ahab. In the same way, when we stay prayed up, the anointing to overtake will come upon us and give us power for extraordinary speed.

2. We deepen our relationship with God when we stay prayed up.  When we master the act of staying prayed up we draw closer to God. Prayer is a two-way conversation between God and man and as we stay prayed up we draw closer to Him. The Bible tells us in

James 4:6, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you...”

Without our constant fellowship with God through prayer, we cannot have an intimate relationship with Him. Therefore, stay prayed up.

3. We activate angelic assistance when we stay prayed up. Prayer opens the heavens over you to get results. An open heaven causes angels to ascend with your prayer requests and descend with your answers. And the interventions of heaven are secured on earth primarily through prayer. When Herod arrested Peter with the intention of killing him, the prayers of the church activate angelic intervention to deliver him (Acts 12:5,11). As you stay prayed up, may angels minister to you!

Precious one, anyone who thinks prayer is no longer necessary is ready to lose what God has given him. Therefore, don’t be too busy, stay prayed up and your life will never be the same.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for the grace to discipline myself to stay prayed up in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
