Imagine, the Bible says, "Just to think about helping the poor, You are blessed".

Psalms 41:1 KJV.  Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

God wants us to treat the poor with mercy.

Leviticus 19:9-10 T4T. 9. When you harvest your grain, leave the grain at the very edge of the field, and do not pick up the grain that has fallen on the ground.
10. And when you harvest your grapes, do not go back a second time to try to harvest some more, and do not pick up the grapes that have fallen on the ground. Leave those things for the poor people and for foreigners who are living among you. I, Yahweh your God, am commanding those things.

Leviticus 23:22 VW. When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely reap to the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God.

That means, in every business or benefit that you made, never you eat all the benefits alone. Reserve some for the poor, too.

Do you know that our honour to God also reflects in the way we treat the poor?

Proverbs 14:31 VW. He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him (God) has mercy upon the needy.

Proverbs 17:5 TPT. Mock the poor, will you? You insult your Creator every time you do! If you make fun of others’ misfortune, you’d better watch out—your punishment is on its way.

Proverbs 17:5 CEV. By insulting the poor, you insult your Creator. You will be punished if you make fun of someone in trouble.

As a believer, one of the ways to attract God's mercy is by showing mercy to the poor.

Proverbs 19:17 AMPC. He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and that which he has given He will repay to him. [Prov. 28:27; Eccl. 11:1; Matt. 10:42; 25:40; II Cor. 9:6-8; Heb. 6:10.]

Proverbs 21:13 MSG. If you stop your ears to the cries of the poor, your cries will go unheard, unanswered.

Proverbs 21:13 TPT. If you close your heart to the cries of the poor, then I’ll close my ears when you cry out to me!

This was the secret of Job in the Bible.

Job 29:12‭-‬13 TLV. For I saved the poor who cried for help, and the orphan who had no one to help him; the blessing of the dying man came on me, and I made the widow’s heart sing for joy.

That was why God prospered him (Job) beyond imagination.

Proverbs 22:9 TPT. When you are generous to the poor, you are enriched with blessings in return.

Proverbs 22:9 CEV. The Lord blesses everyone who freely gives food to the poor.

These principles work for everyone that applies them. Christians, Muslims, Voodoos, Buddhists and Traditionalists. It works for all.

Proverbs 28:27 CEV. Giving to the poor will keep you from poverty, but if you close your eyes to their needs, everyone will curse you.

Proverbs 28:27 TPT. You will never go without if you give to the poor. But if you’re heartless, stingy, and selfish, you invite curses upon yourself.

Proverbs 28:27 MSG. Be generous to the poor—you’ll never go hungry; shut your eyes to their needs, and run a gauntlet of curses.

Proverbs 28:27 AMPC. He who gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes [from their want] will have many a curse. [Deut. 15:7; Prov. 19:17; 22:9.]

This was God's instruction to the Israelites, that they should do and obey them.

Deuteronomy 15:7-8 T4T.
7. In the towns that Yahweh our God is giving to you, if there are any Israelis who are poor, do not be selfish and refuse to help them.
8. Instead, be generous and lend to them the money that they need.

Be careful of what you do to the poor. It might provoke God's anger unaware.

Proverbs 22:22-23 T4T.
22. It is easy to rob poor people who are helpless and cannot defend themselves, but never do that; and do not oppress in court those who are needy/ afflicted,
23. because Yahweh will speak to defend them,    and he will punish those who steal things from others—by causing them to die.

Proverbs 22:22‭-‬23 CEB. Do not abuse poor people because they are poor. And do not take away the rights of the needy in court. The Lord will defend them in court. And he will take the life of those who take away their rights.

Deuteronomy 24:17 ICB. Do not be unfair to a foreigner or an orphan. Don’t take a widow’s coat in place of a loan.

Deuteronomy 24:17 CEV. Make sure that orphans and foreigners are treated fairly. And if you lend money to a widow and want to keep something of hers to guarantee that she will pay you back, don't take any of her clothes.

Don't deny the poor their right, else God will be against you. God has called us to defend and show mercy to the poor, the fatherless and the widows.

Psalms 82:3‭-‬4 CEV. Be fair to the poor and to orphans. Defend the helpless and everyone in need. Rescue the weak and homeless from the powerful hands of heartless people.

Psalms 82:3‭-‬4 TLV. Give justice to the poor and fatherless. Be just to the afflicted and destitute. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.

Zechariah 7:10 CEV. Don't mistreat widows or orphans or foreigners or anyone who is poor, and stop making plans to hurt each other.”

Zechariah 7:10 NCV. Don't hurt widows and orphans, foreigners or the poor; don’t even think of doing evil to somebody else.’
