Romans 10:1 “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”

Souls have been saved, however there are still thousands of souls to be saved. The harvest is indeed abundant (Luke 10:2) and daily, laborers are going out into the field of souls to harvest, like a farmer going to harvest his crops is adequately equipped with the right tools.

We also as laborers going to work and harvest on the field of souls must be rightly equipped.
Going out to evangelise is not just a physical activity, but also spiritual. Here are three reasons why it is important to pray as we evangelise:

1. We pray for compassion for the lost. We need compassion because it motivates us to speak, to teach, and to pray for others to come into the kingdom of God. Paul said, in Romans 10:1 that, "Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation,"

2. We pray for boldness. Boldness from the Lord gives you the courage to risk ridicule and to endure the scorn, and one of the ways to get it isthrough prayer.

"For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord" (2 Timothy 1:7-8).

3. We pray to the Lord to bind Satan and his angels. There is a hierarchy of demons seeking to hinder your evangelism and steal the seeds of the Gospel that you plant. With prayer, you can assault the camp of the enemy and weaken his false kingdom.

Precious one, it is important to arm yourself before stepping out into the field, that your hard work may yield profitable results.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for guidance and direction in working on the field of souls. Help me be adequately equipped before stepping out to harvest the souls in Jesus' Name. Amen.
