Philippians 1:6 (NIV) “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Most believers speak of knowing the One who holds tomorrow, but their attitude suggests otherwise. The kind of utterances that a believer starts his day with has everything to do with how life will turn out for him. You can't say you know the plans God has for you, yet doubt that you will have a glorious life. All around you, you can hear how difficult life is and how tough it has become. But don’t shut out the possibilities in God with the confessions of your mouth.

How would you hold your head high in these trying times? Let's look at these three things:

#1. Be focused
You cannot have distractions when you are certain of where God is taking you. Scripture says in Philippians 3:15-16 (MSG), “So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.”

#2. Have faith.
Faith is the power that trumps fear in the face of all adversities. All you need to do is to be confident in the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

#3. Be courageous.
Courage is a virtue God expects from believers. The Psalmist says in Psalms 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

Precious one, the fact that you don't see the seed doesn't mean it stopped growing. At the appointed time, it will shoot up from the soil. Just hold your head high, God is about to shoot you up.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me not to lose hope in the things You have entrusted to me.
