Isaiah 33:6(KJV) “And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, [and] strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD [is] his treasure.”

It is said that, "The world's leaders are its readers". Many destinies, purposes and lives were either found, changed, transformed or realigned by reading books. The entire history of the Israelites was realigned because Daniel understood by books the number of years they were to spend in desolation (Dan. 9:2).

From today’s scripture, we understand that one significant ingredient for stability in our time is knowledge; and a lot of knowledge can be acquired through the reading of books.

Here are some tips for harnessing and releasing intellectual potential:

1. Build a good library. Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:13 (KJV),

“The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring [with thee], and the books, [but] especially the parchments.”

A good home must have a good library. For you and your children’s sake, your home must be filled with novels, Bibles, biographies, encyclopaedias, science and mathematics books, Christian literature etc.

2. Read to your child. The Bible says in Isaiah 34:16 (KJV),

“Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read”

Children usually do what they see their parents do. As a parent, you must teach your children to take up reading by also reading.

3. Encourage children to explore their interests. Every child comes into the world with hidden talents and gifts. If your child loves animals and birds, get him to read books on animals or watch Animal Planet. If they love fixing things, encourage them to read books on technology and science.

Precious one, studying through books would give you approval from all quarters. Invest in books and build a quality library for your home. Your children will eventually lead in the world because they read.

Prayer:Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom to invest into a good library for my home; and as a child, help me to develop interest in books, in Jesus' name. Amen
