Psalm 102:13 (NKJV) “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes the set time has come”
Favour according to the Oxford Dictionary, is defined as approval, support, liking for, or overgenerous preferential treatment of someone.
Beloved, to be favoured also means to be featured or to be shown partiality or given special prominence.
When you have favour, where others fail, you succeed. For example, the favour of the Lord was on Isaac, when the Philistines in the land of famine could not get any harvest. Isaac, however, sowed in the same land and got a hundred fold the same year. When the Philistines dug wells and had no water, Isaac dug wells and had water (Genesis 26). Favour makes the difference.
Let us focus on three ways to attract God’s favour :
1. Do not embrace pride. God favours those who are humble. Scripture says in James 4:6 (NKJV),
«But He [God] gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.»
2. Go for Wisdom. When you find and walk in wisdom, you attract the favour of God on your life. Proverbs 8:35 (NKJV) declares,
“For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.”
3. Constantly approach the throne of grace through prayer. Prayer releases the favour of God. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV ) that,
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Precious one, it is time for God to favour you. May the favour of God make a big difference in every area of your life.
Prayer : Heavenly Father, by Your favour, cause me to succeed where others have failed, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
