Psalm 92:10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
The anointing is the power of God, and is imparted on the life of a Christian when they receive the Holy Ghost. But it will remain dormant or in a state of rest until it is activated to work. The anointing must always be fresh to be operational.
Unfortunately, many Christians are walking in an anointing of the past, and do not experience power in their lives and ministry due to their inability to maintain freshness of the anointing. But keep the anointing fresh!
Today, let us look at a few ways in which we can stir up or freshen the anointing on our lives:
#1. By thirsting for God.
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God” (Psalm 42:1).
We activate the anointing by constantly thirsting for God. It is not possible to walk in daily power without daily thirst and hunger; We activate the anointing by constantly thirsting for God. It is not possible to walk in daily power without daily thirst and hunger; if your hunger for God ceases after an initial encounter with the anointing, you will be unable to demonstrate His power.
#2. By constantly seeking God in prayer. After Jesus was baptized with the Holy Spirit, He still made it a point to pray and wait on God. As you do the same, the anointing becomes concentrated in your life. Oil helps things to move without friction. Similarly, the anointing empowers us to operate with maximum ease.
#3. Fast regularly.
“In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.” (2 Corinthians 11:27).
It takes fasting to release power for ministry. Fasting helps the sprit to become light and gain speed. When you fast in the right way, accompanied by prayer, meditation and study of the Word, you will be regenerated for ministry.
Beloved, as you stir up the anointing on your life, may you be quickened and empowered for greater deeds.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I activate the anointing upon my life, cause me to make greater impact, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
