John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Dyer, a Welsh poet and pastor from the 1700s once wrote, “A man may go to Heaven without health, without riches, without honors, without learning, without friends; but he can never go there without Christ.”
Our world today is filled with people who are seeking some other way to God than the one found in Jesus and His precious name, but all such efforts are doomed to failure. Jesus is the only Way to Heaven.
Today’s reading reveals that Jesus is the only way to the Father; yet have you thought of the number of people out there who are on the wrong way? Our mission as Christians is to identify these lost and show them the Way:
Here are 3 things to note when showing people the Way:
1. Be patient
Showing people the Way or evangelising is a task that requires a lot of patience as the lost souls can sometimes be very stubborn and may not immediately respond to the gospel the way we expect. Don’t give up, and you will surely succeed.
2. Don’t use “Christianese”
Christianese is Christian lingo only easily understood by Christians. As much as possible use simple words and vocabulary when reaching out to the lost so that they can easily receive the word.
3. As much as possible don’t deal with members of the opposite sex if alone. Some well-intentioned Christians have either been tempted or accused of impropriety because they were alone with a soul they were trying to win.
Precious one, God expects us to show the world the right Way—Jesus. May He find you available.
Prayer : Heavenly Father, use me to always show the lost the right way in Jesus’ name, Amen.
