Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
It is wisdom that would help you navigate life with little hustle. If you have every other thing but lack wisdom, you would fail. Life is like a journey through arid deserts, greener pastures, icy mountains and very dark valleys. And to be a successful pilgrim on this pilgrimage, you need wisdom, for it is wisdom that would help you navigate life with little hustle.
Today’s reading shows us that wisdom is the principal thing, and you cannot attain much in life without it. If you have every other thing but lack wisdom, you would fail. Pain, disappointments, frustration and struggles are inevitable when life is led without wisdom. The lack of wisdom is also known as foolishness.
Here are some manifestations of foolishness which make life unnavigable:
1. Fools talk too much
Ecclesiastes 5:3 shows us that,
“A dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words”.
Fools can be identified by their actions, one of which is too much talking. Watch your talk and talk less; say what is just needed and your life would never be the same.
2. Fools engage in contention
A fool’s actions lead him into strife and quarrels. In Proverbs 18:6 we are told,
“A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes”.
Are you often found in contentious circumstances ? It’s time to desist from such.
3. Fools don’t seek counsel
In Proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) the Bible says,
“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
It is only a fool who considers his ways right in his own eyes, so seek counsel when need be.
Precious one, choose the path of wisdom and reject every form of foolishness, because only then would we navigate life properly and have peace.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, grant me wisdom to navigate life as I journey here on earth in Jesus’ name, Amen.
