Philippians 4:4-6 "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Counsellor Bob Phillips narrates the tale of a man who met Death on the move to a far country. Death told the man he was going to kill ten thousand people in a town, and he went on. Later the man met Death going the opposite way and pointed out that he had heard that seventy thousand had perished. "I only killed ten thousand people,” replied Death. "Worry and Fear killed the others."

In a sin-scattered universe where there is much to fear and a devil constantly prowling after Christians, we naturally tend to worry and fear; but the scriptures teach that, through prayer and supplication, we should lay our requests before God.

In addition to prayer and supplication, here are a few ways to deal with constant worry:

1. Be Intentional About What Goes into Your Mind.
What we fill our mind with has a profound effect on us. Keep your mind on positive things. Philippians 4:8 (NIV) says,

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

2. Live a life of contentment and thanksgiving
When you are not grateful for your life now, you have the tendency to get worried. So, like the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18,

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”.

3. Keep your mind on the Lord
The word of God promises us in Isaiah 26:3,

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

As long as we keep our minds off the circumstances around us, and focus on the Lord, we will have peace from all fear and anxiety.

Beloved, it is essential to identify voices that cause fear and worry, and deal with them through prayer and supplication.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, release me from all thoughts of anxiety, and help me to reaffirm my faith, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
