John 15:8 (AMP) “My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples".

From the text above, we have been called to “bear much fruit" as disciples of Jesus. So essentially, our lack of fruit is tantamount to unfaithfulness as true disciples.

Even though it is good to pay tithes and give offerings, the primary responsibility we have as disciples is to bear fruit by winning souls to Jesus. This is fruit that will remain.

As faithful disciples, our Master Jesus calls us to be fruitful, because of at least these three reasons:

1. God is glorified when we bear much fruit
John 15:8 tells us that, God is glorified when we bear much fruit and prove ourselves to be His disciples.

2. The Kingdom grows when we bear fruit
Also in John 15:16, we are reminded,

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

we did not choose ourselves but were chosen to bear fruits that will remain. These fruits/ souls will add on to God's family, populating heaven and depopulating hell.

3. We receive blessings instead of punishments when we bear fruit
The Bible says in Matthew 25:30,

“And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

We see that the two servants who were not only faithful but also fruitful were rewarded, whereas the one who kept his talent but didn’t produce fruit was called wicked and was punished.

Precious one, the Lord is calling us to bear much fruit by winning souls for His kingdom. Will you answer His call?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, cause me to bear much fruit that will remain to Your praise and glory in Jesus's name. Amen.
