John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
We have not been chosen by Christ just so that we attend church, pay our tithes, give good offerings, have fellowship, and live righteously. Even though each of these is good, our main calling is to bear fruit through proclaiming Christ.
By and large, believers of today have become too involved in the routine of church and oftentimes leave out the most important calling—evangelism. But as Jesus was about to ascend to heaven, His last command to His disciples was that they should preach the gospel everywhere and to every creature (Mark 16:15). It’s a calling you should never lose track of. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
As ambassadors of Christ, our primary calling is to represent Christ on earth and send His good news to the rest of this world. A true ambassador does not lose track of his primary mission of the sending state.
Today, remember that you have been chosen and called by God to preach the gospel. This is your main calling.
Prayer : Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, may I never lose track of my main calling as I serve in Your kingdom. Amen.
