Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
It is always important to do first things first. For instance, wear your socks first before you wear your shoes! Otherwise, you would be in trouble. In the same way, we must seek the kingdom of God first before we run after other things.
The kingdom of God is simply in the saving of souls, the healing of the sick, and the deliverance of the captives. And Scripture tells us that seeking this kingdom must be a priority in our lives. In other words, we must make sure we are not putting our jobs, schooling, or even ambitions in first place.
Remember, God’s will is for all people to be saved. But as Romans 10:14 says,
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
Precious one, if you and I do not preach, the world cannot hear. And if they do not hear, they cannot believe. Your work is important. But seek God’s kingdom first. Your school is helpful. But pursue His kingdom as your priority. If evangelism is not a priority in your life, then you have to reprioritise your life.
I am glad that the Lord has promised that, if we seek His kingdom first, all other things—our personal needs—shall be added unto us. Seek this one first. What are you waiting for?
Prayer : Father, Use me to bring salvation to the lost, and let Your kingdom come through my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen
