READ: 2 Peter 1:19-21
«For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.» - 2 Peter 1:21
In the Christian world, we call inspired speeches «prophetic words». Prophecy is when a person speaks under inspiration.
It is only the Holy Spirit that can give you the inspiration you need. Under the sweet influences of the Holy Spirit, you will be inspired to teach, to preach and to live in the will of God. Ask for the Holy Spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit. You will be inspired. Your words will not be rejected. People will not sleep when you are speaking. Men will change when they listen to your inspired words. Without the influence of the Holy Spirit you will be dull and uninteresting. Your boring lectures will put everyone to sleep and your listeners will pray earnestly for the end of your sermon. They will long to be away from your presence because you are neither inspired nor exciting.
How we need the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit! Without the sweet influences of the Holy Spirit, our speech will be under the inspiration of earthly ideas.
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. - Job 32 :8
Most people speak under the inspiration of other spirits. They may speak from an earthly, sensual or devilish inspiration. But you need to be under the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit. Without the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit, you may be in danger of speaking under the devilish inspiration of bitterness, jealousy or hatred.
