We previously explained that Energeo prayers are mostly answered, they empower the believer to reverse negative situations and curses, and that even the Lord Jesus prayed Energeo prayers. But, how to pray Energeo prayers? How to know whether I am praying Energeo prayers or casual prayers? Are Energeo prayers only limited to shouting on top of your voice and sweating or is there more to it? What are the characteristics of Energeo prayers?
1. It must be from a sincere and engaged heart in prayer.
Jeremiah 30:21 ... for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
Matthew 15:8 These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me
James 5:16, AMP ... The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much...
1 Samuel 1:13 Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk.
This is serious business. Hannah engaged her heart so much that it looked like she was literally drunk. Do you remember on the day of Pentecost the disciples were praying (Acts 1:13-14, 2:1) Energeo prayers and when the Holy Ghost came it was as though they were DRUNK (Acts 2:13)?
How can you claim to be praying an Energeo prayer and yet you are pressing your phone, receiving calls, rejecting calls, picking calls "just to let them know you will call them back", watching television, listening to radio, on social media, being distracted one way or the other even by your own children? Those casual prayers with distraction don't produce outstanding miracles. Put your phone and any other distraction away and engage your heart in the prayers. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of the righteous ... If you don't engage your heart if you don't feel it with your heart, you are wasting your time. Engage your full heart into that prayer and see tremendous results.
Praying Energeo prayers is a decision. You decide to pray it, and you commit to it.
2. It must be persistent, consistent, insistent, spiritually violent, never letting go until you see results, and that is what may make you sweat depending on the weather. Praying Energeo prayers is a decision. You decide to pray a particular way and you commit to it until you see results or get a note of victory in your spirit.
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
The word violence can be identified three times in this verse. Jesus was clear. There are some things, you don't get them by wishing. You have to take it by spiritual violence in prayer. Spiritual violence and violence and violence. You have to be persistent at it. You can NOT give up. If you do, it ceases to be an Energeo prayer.
Luke 18:1 Gnt, Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged.
1 Kings 18:43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
You just can NOT give up. You MUST PRESS ON, apply pressure.
3. It must be according to the will of God, the word of God, and sanctification. You can not be praying fervent prayers living knowingly and willingly in sin. You can not be claiming someone's spouse in Energeo prayers because it is against the will and the word of God.
1 John 5:14-15. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
1 Thessalonians 4:3. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication (all forms of sexual sin including sex before marriage, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, masturbation, sex dolls, sex robots...).
So before praying Energeo prayers, check from the word of God whether it is in alignment with what the word of God says.
4. It must be specific, focused on one topic at a time. Jesus prayed Energeo prayers about his death for 3 hours (Matthieu 26:39 - 44), Elijah prayed about the rain 7 times or maybe 7 hours (1 Kings 18:43), Hannah prayed about having a male child. You will find it difficult to pray Energeo prayer about many things at the same time. Pick one that is important and pray Energeo prayers and get results. Then you move to the next one.
