Psalm 35:27 “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servants.”

Many are of the view that God is not interested in the financial prosperity of His children, and that speaking of finances for the Christian is carnal talk that must not be associated with spirituality. This is a wrong mindset that needs to be cured if we are going to walk in the fullness of what Christ offers us.

Some Christians cringe and become very uncomfortable when the Church talks about money and prosperity. Interestingly, God has a different attitude towards prosperity: He takes pleasure in our prosperity! If we must be like Him, then we also must take pleasure in our own prosperity.

Here are three other proofs that it is God’s plan and in His interest to have us prosper here on earth:

1. God gives us power to get wealth.

Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant...”

Moses, the man with whom God spoke face to face, told the people that God said He was the One (not the devil) responsible for giving them power to get wealth, and nobody at that time could argue against him on the matter; so why should we today?

2. God owns everything.

Psalm 24:1 says,  “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”

God is the Creator and Owner of all things. The earth belongs to Him. Everything in it belongs to Him. The people belong to Him, and the belongings of the people also belong to Him. God said, “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine” (Haggai 2:8). If God uses nothing on the earth for Himself, why did He create all things on the earth? It must really be His desire for us to have them.

3. God has shown us how to prosper. In Joshua 1:8, God shows us how to make our way prosperous, and in Luke 6:38, Jesus instructs us to

“give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom.”

God is interested in your prosperity because it brings Him pleasure. It is now your choice to make in renewing your mind to accept what comes from God. Why would God teach and command us about how to prosper and have abundance, if He didn’t want us to prosper? He is obviously interested in our prosperity.

Precious one, God is interested in your prosperity because it brings Him pleasure. It is now your choice to make in renewing your mind to accept what comes from God. Remember, it is God who gives power to get wealth because He is the owner of all things and He shows us how to prosper.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for being interested in my prosperity. As I choose today to walk in Your good will for my life, let prosperity be my portion, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
