Expiation
Because of these problems, God provided a remedy, that is why the death of Jesus Christ is the most important thing. Because the death of Christ provides cleansing of sins.
1 John 1:7 ... the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Reconciliation And Redemption
The death of Jesus Christ reconciles Man back to God and redeems us from the slavery of sin. There was a debt of sin on our head and the devil had bought us but because of the blood of Jesus Christ we have been redeemed from our sins, we have been bought by the blood of God. Acts 20:28 tells us that God has purchased us with his own blood. So if you are in Christ ALL your sins have been forgiven.
Propritiation
The death of Christ brings us propritiation. Propriation means that we have escaped Judgement which has been turned into favor. So through the death of Jesus, the punishment that we deserved, has been taken from us and put on Christ and instead we have favor from God.
Two friends left university together, one of them became a judge and the other a criminal. One day the criminal was sent to court where his friend the judge was in charge of judging his acts. The crimal was guilty and was supposed to pay a penalty of Five hundred thousands Ghana cedis which He did not have. His friend the judge, knew he the criminal had to pay and yet was not having that amount of money. The judge could not have declared him flawless due to their friendship. Therefore the judge said : in fact you have committed a crime and you have to pay. His friend the judge got off his high seat, came down to his friend and signed him a check of Five hundred thousands Ghana cedis. You see, the judge did not let his friend escape justice so Justice was done but mercy was shown. And that is what Christ had done for us. Because of our sins We deserve the wrath of God. But God is a just God. He can NOT just say : okay, your sins are forgiven ! So somebody had to absorbe our punishment. And that is why God sent Jesus to die for us. Jesus died in our place, He has absorbed the judgement of God, and so, you and I, are free to serve God, we have FAVOR FROM GOD. YOU NEED TO BELIEVE THIS !! THAT IS WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE.
