READ: Luke 11:14-20
«If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.» - Luke 11:18
One day, I received a document from someone who wanted me to believe that my church was a cult-like organization. Initially, I was taken aback by the document, which seemed to be an authority in describing cults.
This document claimed that one characteristic of cults is an emphasis on loyalty. This fellow was therefore pointing out to me that because I have taught on «loyalty» and written books on loyalty, our church has strong characteristics of a cult. These cleverly composed arguments sound true, but can be very misleading. As I studied this paper, I realized that there was absolutely no scriptural backing for these authoritative statements. Which Bible verse says that when a church teaches on loyalty it is cult-like? Is there not so much in the Bible that teaches us to be faithful ?
What was the fate of Judas ? Did Jesus not say it would have been better that he was not born? About which other sin did Jesus ever say it would have been better that the person was never born?
«The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born» (Matthew 26:24).
How can the teaching on loyalty and faithfulness to God and His servants be categorized as questionable? Even the suggestion of this is demonic! Accusations thrive on non-biblical quotations, proverbs and sayings but not on the Word of God.
