John 9:4 I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Some years ago as Evangelist D. L. Moody walked down a Chicago street, he walked up to a man and asked him if he were a Christian. The fellow raised his fists and angrily exclaimed, “You mind your own business!”.
“This is my business,” replied Evangelist Moody.
“Well, then, you must be Moody,” the man responded.
Evangelist Moody was known for his consistency in the works of Christ. Just as Jesus said in the Scripture above, Evangelist Moody was not put down by the fellow’s aggressive attack on him while he worked the works of Christ.
There are works that God has planned for you to accomplish today: witnessing, giving, and encouraging others; Furthermore, in Ephesians 2:10 Kjv we gather that we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. There are works that God has planned for you to accomplish today: witnessing, giving, and encouraging others; and it is vitally important that you be busy doing God’s work while there is still time.
Precious one, are you performing the works that God has planned for you?
Here are 3 reasons why you must work the works of Jesus Christ:
1. First, you must remember that you’re going to receive a reward that’s going to go on for eternity when we work for the Lord. (Hebrews 6:9-10).
2. The labourers are few
You’ve heard it before: the Gospels only record one prayer request from our Lord Jesus, that is, “Pray for labourers!” If you are not already involved, somebody somewhere is praying for you to become involved in the work of the Lord.
3. You will stand before the Lord. God loves you. He died for you. He has given you a purpose. You will meet Him face to face someday. Involvement in ministry is a life of service for Jesus.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to work the works of Christ in Jesus’ name, amen.
