Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

Many years ago, Ghana was officially declared an independent state by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. In his address to the people, Nkrumah said, “Our independence is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total liberation of Africa.” This was a legendary visionary whose vision extended over the boundaries of personal achievement. He understood that having achieved national freedom he had the responsibility to help nations achieve the same.

Likewise, our salvation as believers will have more meaning, if we seek more diligently to reach others with the saving power of Christ. We are the ambassadors of Christ to a dying world around us - to liberate the world from the oppression of Satan. The Gospel is our “independence speech” to the world from the Devil.

Here are three areas we must liberate people from:

1. Spiritual Death. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Spiritual death holds every soul, that enters the earth, prisoner; and the destination of such is hell and the lake of fire. We must not be content with our salvation. We must intercede for the liberation of the unsaved, and reach out to them with the gospel that they may receive the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus.

2. Sicknesses and infirmities. The Bible tells us that Jesus went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). People all around the world are under the weight of Satan’s wickedness, suffering from all sorts of sicknesses and diseases. But glory to God! We are His ambassadors to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out devils because freely we have received and freely we give.

3. Poverty. In Psalm 82:3, God addresses His church and instructs, “defend the poor and the fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.” Jesus preached the gospel to the poor and also gave alms to them. His ambassadors must also do the same and even in a greater measure.

Precious one, as ambassadors of Christ with the full powers and resources of our kingdom behind us, let us rise and liberate people from spiritual death, sicknesses, and poverty.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask for grace and boldness to represent You as a worthy ambassador to my world, in Jesus name. Amen.
