Mark 3:35 (NKJV) “For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

When God bolts the door, don't try to get in through the window.  Someone said, “The will of God never will lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.” It’s very important to know that the safest place any believer can find him or herself is in the will of God, far from the wiles of the Devil. Here are three things to know about God’s will:

1. We must pray for His will to be done. As Christians, our desires, ambitions, and wills should align with God’s since His will is perfectly good. We must therefore pray for God’s will to be done above ours. Jesus, in teaching us how to pray, said we should pray, “Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

2. We need to discern the will of God. As believers, we are better equipped to discern the will of God when we are not conformed to this world, but rather, are transformed by a renewed mind. The Holy Spirit, through Apostle Paul, tells us in Romans 12:2 to “not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God...” Remember, when our mind is renewed we easily discern the will of God.

3. We must accept the will of God when we discern it. Accepting God’s will is an exercise we must find pleasurable. If Jesus had not accepted God’s will, we would still be in our sins, and we’d die in our sins! He submitted to the Father’s will, even knowing what it would mean. He said, “Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done” (Luke 22:42b).

Precious one, the will of God is the safest place for us as believers. Therefore, pray, discern, and accept it, and your life will never be the same.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your good will toward me. As I fellowship with You daily, cause Your perfect will to be done in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
