Luke 9:62 "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

The scripture above is a response from Jesus to His would-be follower declaring, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and bid my people farewell."

God does not require us to cut our relationships short; rather, He needs us to follow Him wholeheartedly, making Him first, ahead of all things, and staying committed to His word.

Here are three ways to stay committed to God;

#1. Seek the Lord with all your heart daily. Read your bible and pray daily. God will not ignore a truly persistent person seeking Him. (Jeremiah 29:13).

#2. Turn back to the Lord if you find yourself drifting away. The Holy Spirit will guide your path. Learn to listen to Him and follow His instructions. (John 16:13).

#3. Fellowship with other believers. A Christian should not live alone but with others so they can encourage each other in hard times. (Proverbs 27:17).

Precious one, following Jesus is not just an important thing—it is the most important thing in our lives as Christians. Do it wholeheartedly.
