John 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the Bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Christ will soon come for His bride (the church) and present her to our Father in heaven. In preparation for this glorious wedding supper in the future, we must have a love for God that is so passionate that we are willing to give ourselves entirely to Him.

Bishop Charles AgyinasareAs you surrender to God, you are likely to face challenges, temptation and persecution. Just as a bride waits patiently and excitedly for her bridegroom, you must be uncompromising in preparation for His arrival. Here are some ways to prepare:

#1. Keep your garment unspotted with the world.
Jesus said in Revelation 16:15, “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” You must therefore separate yourself from the world and its lusts as you prepare for the Bridegroom’s arrival.

#2. Allow continual cleansing of the Word.
“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (John 15:3). The word of God carries power to make us clean, therefore cleanse yourself as you read and meditate on it.

#3. Stir up your love for Him.
Make time for the Lord. Develop your personal relationship with Him as you take your quiet time more seriously. Don’t live unto yourself, but for Him, as you put aside your own desires and make His will your will.

Precious one, with this kind of preparation in place, we should be ready when the Lord appears in the sky, and we shall be caught up with Him. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, preserve me in the midst of trials, challenges and temptations, and help me to be ready for my Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
