When I became a believer, anytime I read Luke 3:21 - Luke's account of the Baptism of Jesus - I always felt that God was partial because many were baptised with Him, but only Jesus had the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
As I read one day, God opened my eyes to see in the scriptures that it was the praying that caused the heavens to be opened. Jesus, on the day of His baptism, was preparing Himself for something special and so, He was praying.
Precious one, prayer is very important. And it is what differentiates the powerful man from the weak man. In fact, your blessings would not come to you automatically; you need to pray them down.
Here are 3 reasons why you need to pray :
#1. Jesus said we should pray without ceasing.
The Bible says in
Luke 18:1 “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
#2. Prayer achieves the impossible.
Jesus Christ said in
Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Whatever your needs may be, if you go to God in prayer, they move into possibility.
#3. Prayer strengthens the believer.
Jude 1:20 says that, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”
In prayer we build and strengthen ourselves.
Precious one, as you contact heaven in prayer, remember that the power of God is inside you, and with that power you will make a difference.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I stand in prayer, let me experience a spiritual explosion to make a difference in Jesus’ name, Amen.
