Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV, “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
The word ‘power’ means divine ability or enlargement. When we receive this power, we do not struggle to make wealth. Power to make wealth is insight or sensitivity from God to do a given job at a particular time in a particular way.
Here are three reasons why God will prosper His people:
#1. To establish His covenant.
Galatians 3:29, “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” God made a covenant with Abraham and promised to bless his seed (descendants), so His prospering us is just a confirmation.
#2. To show His love for us.
Matthew 7:11 AMP states, “If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!”.
#3. So that they can bless the church and meet the needs of the needy.
1 John 3:17 MSG says, “If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God's love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.” Therefore, God blesses us so we can also meet others’ needs.
Precious one, may you walk in the power to get wealth.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, let nothing in my life stop me from walking in Your power to get me wealth, in Jesus’ name. Amen
