Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Faith in the life of a believer is so important that no one becomes a true Christian without it, and we cannot grow and develop spiritually without it.
From today's reading, we see that there is simply no other Bible-prescribed way to come to God but by faith. Just as a fish naturally thrives in water, there are perfect conditions in which faith can thrive. Here are three of them:
1. Love. Apostle Paul says in
Galatians 5:6 (AMP), "For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love."
The Scripture is very clear on this particular subject: without love, we choke the activation and free expression of our faith, irrespective of how many scriptures we confess and attempt to believe.
2. A positive environment. Our faith is influenced directly by the environment we maintain. Jesus Christ illustrated the impact of a negative environment on faith in
Mark 5:40-42 (NKJV): "And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, ‘Talitha, cumi’, which is translated, ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise’. Immediately the girl arose and walked.”
Beloved, when we maintain the company of friends, relations, and acquaintances that pour acid on our faith by their words and actions, our faith will not work. Faith only thrives in positive environments.
The operation and expression of faith are limited by doubt. Success in eliminating doubt opens up the possibility of faith and its expression. Activate your faith by walking in love, maintaining a positive environment, and eliminating doubt.
3. Faith works in an atmosphere devoid of doubt. In
James 1:6-7 (NKJV), the Bible says, "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord".
The operation and expression of faith are limited by doubt. Success in eliminating doubt opens up the possibility of faith and its expression.
Precious one, one of the major pillars of the Christian walk is faith. Therefore, activate it by walking in love, maintaining a positive environment, and eliminating doubt.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I exercise the faith that I have, let all doubt be flushed out of my life, so that I may accomplish much for You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
